The hanging scroll means a single morning glory. We have hot days in August, but purple and pink flowers come to mind in the cool morning hours.

This calligraphy is written by my French friend who lives in Kamakura.

She painted it with a gentle brushwork.

The tea flower is Lantana from the court; this flower changes from a small white button to a yellow flower and then color in pink.

As the special tea procedure at this time, a "cha-kin" (linen cloth), which is used for wiping and purifying tea bowls, is brought with water in the tea bowl. Before making tea, take out "cha-kin" of the tea bowl, fold it and spill water to "kensui" (waste-water receptacle). And then the tea bowl is cleaned as usual and it is ready to make thin tea. Yes, it is designed so that guests may feel cool by using water.

The sweet is called "Minawa", which means "the water splashes". The tray with a beautiful wood pattern is made of Kamakura wood carving by my friend.
