Summer tea box ✨

The tea box procedure were created by Urasenke Ⅺ Gengensai (1810-77).

There are "snow (winter), moon (autumn), flowers (spring)" and "deutzia (summer)" which represent the four seasons. All tea utensils are put in a box and also these procedures give a concise and modern impression. The water is boiled in an iron kettle. People can enjoy a cup of tea while traveling or in the field.

The sweets are put in a small bottle called "furidashi" (shaking out) then the guests take them out on a pocket paper. Today's dry sweets are called "hydrangeas" which are cute in color.

"Natsume” (tea container) is designed of Kamakura wood carving, and the tea bowl is called “Blue Italian” made by Spode in England.
